Summer vacation

We just got back from visiting Matt's parents in Laguna Beach. It was a great vacation and a nice, needed break from our every day routine. This is the first time that Roxie actually enjoyed the beach and wasn't nervous of it. We had a great time building sand castles and playing in the ocean. It was also nice to see some of Matt's family and Roxie loved playing with her cousins. Roxie and I were there for about a week before Matt joined us from Germany. I'm trying to get Matt to post about his trip to Dresden himself. He took some amazing pictures from Germany and also from his day trip into Prague.
While in Laguna, we were able to spend a decent amount of time with our great friends, Chris and Jenna. They came to the beach with us and Chris and Roxie had a wonderful time together (pictures to come soon). We also met our new little cousin, Hayden, born just a week before we came to visit. How's that for timing! It was great to see him and all the family.
Now we're back home and getting into our regular routine again. However, we leave in another week and a half for another family vacation in Utah! We're excited to have all these fun things to look forward to.

She looks so big here! It was so nice just to relax on a beach towel and let her play.
She wanted to dig a big hole with Daddy but thought it was more fun to fill it back up with sand, much to Matt's disapproval. As soon as he'd turn his back she'd hurry and throw some sand in the hole and laugh and laugh. We had a great time!
